PRACTICE generosity
Quite simply, you can’t out give God. You may have heard that “it’s better to give than receive.” We believe “it’s better to give back some of what you receive.” Being generous with the things God has given us to manage is a matter of simple obedience to God.
What is generosity?
Too often, people think the only way to be generous is with their finances but that isn't true. At CCC we believe there are three things we should be generous with:
- LOVE- As followers of Jesus, this is the most important things we can do. We need to be generous with our love. This cannot stop at our door step. As followers of Jesus, we must love all people regardless of their race, religion, gender, sin, or lifestyle. Jesus died for all people because He loved all people. Therefore, those pursuing a life modeled after His must love just as He did.
- TIME- We should be generous with our time. We have 168 hours in a week; 56 of those we spend sleeping, 40 of those we spend working, 15 of those we spend eating. That leaves 57 hours for us to do something.
- MONEY- Jesus made it clear that how we use our money is a reflection of the values of our hearts. A tithe is a starting point for giving. Too often we use it as a measure for the least we can give. We want to be generous above and beyond our tithe because God didn't give the least, He gave the most.
WHY BE GENEROUS?
When you GIVE, you enable CCC to reach more people with the life-changing message of Jesus. Marriages are strengthened, families are brought closer together, purpose is discovered, souls are saved, and people engage the adventure of walking out God’s best for them. In short, your faithful giving creates places where you, your family, and your friends can experience Jesus.
